What is Urological Cancer?
The human body is made up of microscopic cells. New cells are continuously being formed throughout one’s life to replace the damaged and worn-out cells. This division of cells is controlled by genes (genetic code) present inside each cell. Cancer is the abnormal and uncontrolled division of cells. This proliferation of cells forms a lump called a tumor and is usually caused when there is a problem with the genetic control system. Cancer can be formed in living cells present in any region of the body. The organ in which the cancer forms is called primary cancer. When these tumors are limited to the region of origin they are called benign and are not cancerous. When cancer cells break off from the primary tumor and spread to another part of the body to form new tumors, they are called secondary cancers, and the process is termed metastasis.
